30 years ago this month, Bruce Springsteen was literally "Boss." Bruce's smash hit 'Born in the U.S.A.' off his seventh studio album of the same name was the anthem in the summer of '84 and still sounds as spirited and relevant as ever. 

Although Nuyorican blood flows through these veins, much like Bruce, I've always been proud to be from New Jersey and definitely proud to have been born in the U.S.A.. 

I'll always be a Hip-Hop head, but I would be remiss not to acknowledge Bruce and his E Street Band as well as all the other great sounds that have provided countless enjoyment and inspiration throughout my life. Happy Independence Day.
