FRESH, FLY, AND FABULOUS: FIFTY YEARS OF HIP HOP STYLE
February 8 - April 23, 2023
The Museum at FIT is paying tribute to Hip Hop's influence in fashion in the past 50 years. Dubbed 'Fresh, Fly, and Fabulous: Fifty Years of Hip Hop Style', the exhibition will explore this revolutionary and influential style with over 100 garments and accessories, and marks the first time that the museum examines fashion exclusively through one musical genre.
FREE: HIP HOP FASHION SYMPOSIUM
February 24, 10 am–5 pm
Join The Museum at FIT for Fresh, Fly, and Fabulous: Fifty Years of Hip Hop Style, a fashion symposium led by the exhibition’s co-curators Elena Romero and Elizabeth Way. The symposium will draw on the expert voices of hip hop style from journalists, designers, and stylists to curators, professors, and archivists who will explore topics that center hip hop fashion as a force that has shaped American culture for five decades. Talks and panels focus on the role of jewelry, custom design, media, collecting, and designer brands in amplifying hip hop’s impact on fashion and society.

ATW is proud to be a participating brand at this year's SOLE DXB. We've had the pleasure of being sold in Dubai when we launched 3 years ago, but presence at SOLE's concept store 'Early Retirement,' especially amongst other world renowned brands, is a great honor. Major S/O to our camera comrade and ATW collborator [...]
Jamel Shabazz's new coffee table book Pieces Of A Man could easily be one of his most ambitious and profound books yet. Self published and carefully curated by Shabazz himself, the book comes off more like his visual diary than a collection of masterfully composed and honest portraits of subjects near and far. From hard boiled streets [...]
Nothing says Hip-Hop like the film, Style Wars. When director Tony Silver and co-producer Henry Chalfant delivered the broadcast version of their prize-winning film to PBS in 1983, the world received its first full immersion in the phenomenon that had taken over New York City. On October 24, 2016, The Roxy Hotel Cinema in Tribeca [...]
