Bronx native Lisa Leone has come a long way. I met Lisa back in 2005 as one of the co-stars of the cult classic film Just For Kicks, which she co-directed.  My experience on set with Lisa was such a pleasure, I gave her a pair of vintage fat laces from my old school stash as a parting gift. 

For those that don't know, Lisa is a cinematographer, director, photographer and now an author.  Her first monograph Here I Am is a unique collection of some of her prize shots from her years documenting Hip-Hop culture.

Lisa's photos are honest, well composed and nothing short of timeless.  Here I Am will complement Leone’s forthcoming exhibition of the same name at the Bronx Museum of the Arts September 13, 2014–January 11, 2015.
